The Tweedbank office is ideally placed for all transport links across the country. We’re adjacent to Tweedbank Train Station which runs a regular and efficient service to Edinburgh (journey times are less than 1 hour) and we’re also next to both the A7 and A68 – the major arteries connecting the Borders to all major conurbations North and South.
The Peebles Office is in the middle of the town and easy to access from the town and surrounding areas.
Business Advisory Director
Gall Robertson CA are currently recruiting a Business Advisory Director based in our Peebles office.
We operate a general practice model where the main point of contact deals with all of the client’s accounting and taxation needs, with specialists on hand should you require more complex advice.

As part of our core leadership team, you will bring clarity and insight to our client base, whilst providing leadership, guidance and support to colleagues around you.
Working as part of the wider leadership team, the Business Advisory Director in Peebles will offer leadership and guidance to a team of 5, whilst managing and developing a portfolio of clients. Our client base is broad and includes but is not limited to: Agriculture & Farming, Charities, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Property & Construction, Retail, Services plus Startups/Entrepreneurial clients.
As Business Advisory Director, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Act as a “Client Relationship Manager” for a varied and diverse client portfolio
- Have final sign off for statutory financial statements, corporate tax returns, VAT returns and personal tax returns
- Identify advisory opportunities and co-ordinate advisory work, initiating discussions with clients and bringing in relevant specialists as required
- Contribute to the general operational and strategic direction of the firm
- Coach, mentor and develop more junior staff members and support them through formal training and examinations as appropriate
- Prepare proposals, ensuring fees are set at appropriate levels
- Monitor budgets, manage Work in Progress and ensure value-based billing
The role is offered on a full-time basis of 35 hours per week, of which at least three days are likely to be office based and comes with an attractive remunerative package including benefits customised to the individual.
